Leader in the industry
UGG is a fashionable footwear brand, owned by the US company Deckers Outdoor Corporation, based in Goleta, California.
UGG is famous for its classic lambskin boots but also produces shoes, sandals, slippers, clothing, and handbags.
Their boots are made with double-face leather and suede with wool inside, making them porous and better able to keep your feet fresh in summer and warm in winter.
The use of this particular sheepskin was invented by Australian surfer, Shane Stedman, who needed to keep his feet warm after getting out the water. The result was so extraordinary that he decided to patent UGG-BOOTS in Australia and in 1982 the UGG brand was born.
Surfer Brian Smith brought UGG Australia to the United States where they met the public's favour among California's surfers and Hollywood stars.
In 1995 Deckers Outdoor Corp. acquired the company founded by Smith, UGG Holdings Inc. and a year later also purchased the rights to the brand in their entirety from Shane Stedman.
In the year 2000 thanks to Oprah Winfrey, UGG boots became a fashionable product, celebrated by stars like Kate Hudson, Sarah Jessica Parker, Jennifer Aniston and Cameron Diaz. Today UGGs are a registered trademark in more than 120 countries.
