The shoe Superga
was born in Turin in 1911, more than a hundred years ago from the genius of the entrepreneur Walter Martiny. SUPERGA
He used vulcanized rubber, invented by Charles Goodyear, for the first time in Italy to make rubber boots used in rice cultivation. Later, in 1925, Walter Martiny created the world's first sports shoe with a vulcanized sole for his wife, an expert tennis player, replacing and evoking the look of traditional rope soles. From this moment on, SUPERGA
will remain a symbol of tennis.
